Who I am

I am a professional counselor trained and licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice and as Clinical Director at an outpatient mental health clinic. I have offered a variety of seminars and workshops in my community covering a range of marriage and family topics, depression, anxieties, trauma, and bereavement. I have expertise in counseling couples in all stages of relationship and families in all stages including parenting, blended families, and divorce.

With a background as a Registered Nurse, I have a deep understanding of issues concerning chronic illness, end-of-life issues, and caregiver stresses. I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing) clinician for treating PTSD and trauma related difficulties. As a Certified Spiritual Director, I am able to utilize the spiritual disciplines as a component of my practice for those clients that desire to incorporate them into their therapy process.

How I Can Help You

As a therapist who works with individuals and couples, my intention is to create a collaborative partnership that enables my clients to move away from self-blame and judgment while supporting them in finding solutions that are consistent with their values and beliefs and fit their own unique life paths.

I hope to collaborate with you to ensure your live your best life.

Frequency and Length of Sessions

Sessions are usually 50 minutes, once a week.  Sometimes it is in the client’s best interest to meet more frequently.  This is determined through discussion with the client on a case-by-case basis.  In some cases (such as couples or family therapy), there may also be a need for extended sessions.  These will typically be 75 – 100 minutes and the fee will be adjusted accordingly.

How Long Does Therapy Last?

Length of therapy is determined collaboratively with the client and varies greatly. Some people come to me to address one specific problem or get through a rough period. Some clients are on a long-term quest for self-understanding or are seeking to change life-long patterns. Still others want ongoing support as they face challenging life circumstances.

Fees and Method of Payment

My regular fees are $100 per session paid at the end of each session. I can take checks or cash. I am on a limited number of EAP. If I am not contracted with your insurance company, I can supply you with a “superbill” at the end of the month, which you can then submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
